  • Corinthians secured a 2-0 win against Mirassol, ending a two-month winless run in the Brasileirão.
  • The match at Neo Química Arena drew the largest crowd of the 33rd round, with over 43,000 fans.
  • Mirassol's coach protested an early red card for Bruno Santos, a decision later supported by a refereeing expert.

Corinthians defeated Mirassol 2-0 on Friday night at the Neo Química Arena, breaking a winless streak that had lasted over two months in the Campeonato Brasileiro. The victory, part of the 33rd round, saw Matheus Bidu score for Corinthians in the 12th minute of the second half.

The fixture recorded the highest attendance of the round, with 43,842 paying spectators generating a revenue of R$ 2.8 million. However, the game was not without controversy, as Mirassol's striker Bruno Santos received a direct red card for aggression in the 23rd minute of the first half. Mirassol coach Rafael Guanaes strongly criticized the refereeing decision, stating, "If it's going to continue this way, just give the three points to Corinthians." Globo's refereeing commentator, Paulo César de Oliveira, later agreed with the VAR's recommendation for the red card.

Following the match, Corinthians coach Clarence Seedorf acknowledged the importance of the win but emphasized that the team's objective had not yet been fully achieved. He praised his players' commitment and vowed to maintain intensity throughout the season while focusing on mental strength recovery. Looking ahead, Corinthians will be without Matheuzinho for their upcoming 34th-round classic against São Paulo, scheduled for Wednesday at Vila Belmiro, as he accumulated a third yellow card.
