Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso has ruled out the possibility of Estêvão Willian leaving the club on loan during the January transfer window. Despite limited playing time for the Brazilian winger, Alonso stated that there have been no talks regarding a temporary exit, noting that every member of the squad needs to be prepared to contribute.
The 19-year-old has struggled to secure a regular place in the lineup, featuring as a starter in only two of Chelsea's eleven games this season. According to The Guardian, the debate over his role intensified after he remained an unused substitute during the club's recent Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Liverpool.
Alonso indicated that the youngster must further adjust to his specific requirements on the pitch. The manager explained that Estêvão needs to adapt to his style of play before he can earn a more consistent position in the starting team.
