Vasco's run in the Copa Sudamericana ended on Tuesday following a 3-1 loss to Boca Juniors at the Maracanã. Despite holding an advantage from the first leg in Argentina, the Brazilian side conceded early and failed to mount a significant comeback in front of a capacity crowd.

Di Lollo, Merentiel, and Paredes found the net for the visitors. Paredes, who entered the match as a substitute, secured the result in the 87th minute with a long-range strike that slipped past goalkeeper Léo Jardim. Puma Rodríguez provided the lone goal for the hosts.

Following the elimination, Vasco players expressed frustration over their performance. Puma Rodríguez cited childish errors, while Marino pointed to a lack of concentration during the opening minutes. Thiago Mendes offered an apology to the fans for the team's inability to secure a spot in the final.
