Vasco and Palmeiras prepare for Copa do Brasil semifinal
- Vasco and Palmeiras are set to face off in the Copa do Brasil semifinals.
- Vasco president Pedrinho opened up about his past battle with depression at Palmeiras.
- Regulators are investigating a potential conflict of interest in Vasco's SAF sale.
Vasco and Palmeiras will meet this Sunday for the Copa do Brasil semifinal. Ahead of the match, Vasco president Pedrinho reflected on his time as a player for the São Paulo club, revealing he struggled with depression during that period. Pedrinho noted that he began seeking professional treatment for the illness while at Palmeiras, with the assistance of staff recommended by his then-coach.
Simultaneously, the sale of Vasco's SAF to Marcos Lamacchia remains under regulatory review. Organizations such as Anresf and Cade are investigating the deal to determine if there is a conflict of interest, given that Lamacchia is the stepson of Palmeiras president Leila Pereira. The transaction, which was approved by Vasco last Friday, is currently awaiting clearance from these oversight bodies.
