The 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony will be held this Monday at the London Palladium Theatre in England. This 70th edition of the traditional award, organized by France Football, features a change of venue from recent years, moving away from the Théâtre du Châtelet.
The choice of the London venue serves to honor Stanley Matthews, the inaugural winner of the trophy. The event is set to begin at 5:00 PM Brasilia time. According to reports, the competition for the world's best player is intense this year, with no clear favorite emerging.
French player Ousmane Dembélé, who secured the award last year, is once again considered a strong candidate. Historically, the last players to win consecutive titles were Cristiano Ronaldo in 2016 and 2017, and Lionel Messi in 2019 and 2021.
