TSG Hoffenheim’s difficult run continued with a 2-3 defeat against Besiktas in the second matchday of the Europa League. The result marks the fourth consecutive loss for the team led by Christian Ilzer, who failed to secure a turnaround in form.
The primary concern for Hoffenheim remains their defensive vulnerability. Throughout the match, simple ball losses led to dangerous counter-attacks from the Turkish side, with Oh scoring a brace to extend the lead to 3-1. Both Oliver Baumann and Fisnik Asllani acknowledged the team's struggles in maintaining defensive structure, a sentiment echoed by coach Christian Ilzer, who identified the defense as the team's biggest area of concern.
Despite the ongoing crisis, Fisnik Asllani emphasized that the squad must remain resilient and focus on necessary tactical adjustments. The team had previously faced challenges during the match, including a near own-goal by Andrej Kramaric, as they continue to search for a way out of their current slump.
