Harry Kane has been crowned the 2026 Ballon d'Or winner at a ceremony held at the London Palladium Theatre. The Bayern Munich and England forward secured the title ahead of fellow finalists Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal. His victory ends a long wait for English football, making him the first player from his country to receive the honor since Michael Owen in 2001.
The 31-year-old is now the fifth English player in history to be named the world's best footballer. His win follows a record-setting 2025/2026 Bundesliga campaign in Germany. In addition to the main prize, Kane collected a second trophy during the gala on Monday night.
While FC Barcelona dominated several categories throughout the evening, other individual honors included Luis de la Fuente, who was recognized as the best coach. The event in the English capital featured many of the game's current stars and legends.
