Goalkeeper Joao Ricardo is currently leading Fortaleza's Serie B campaign after failing medical examinations at Corinthians earlier this year. Following surgery on his right shoulder last October, the player regained his fitness and has since been appointed captain of the team.
Separately, Portuguesa has initiated proceedings with the ANRESF regarding an outstanding debt from Vitoria related to the acquisition of forward Rene, the club's top scorer with 17 goals this season. The player was initially signed on loan for R$ 700,000 before being purchased for R$ 5.8 million. Vitoria's Fabio Mota is reportedly seeking an agreement to resolve the financial dispute.
