  • Four Flamengo players are on Brazil's preliminary squad list for upcoming friendlies.
  • Pedro, Samuel Lino, Lucas Paquetá, and Emerson Royal are included.
  • This comes after Flamengo's Libertadores elimination without goals from its center-forwards.

Flamengo, currently leading the Campeonato Brasileiro, has seen its representation on the Brazilian national team's preliminary squad list double for the final 2026 FIFA international window. Coach Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly keen to assess a broader range of players for the upcoming friendlies.

Initially, Pedro and Samuel Lino were named in September. They have now been joined by Lucas Paquetá and Emerson Royal, bringing the total to four players from the Rio de Janeiro club. Ancelotti is scheduled to announce the final squad next Thursday for matches against Japan on November 14 and Singapore on November 17.

This development follows Flamengo's recent exit from the Copa Libertadores. The team failed to score against Estudiantes in the knockout stage, registering only three shots on target. Pedro, who started in the Maracanã match, concluded the knockout phase without scoring for the fifth time in seven years while playing for Flamengo. Meanwhile, discussions are underway between clubs and the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) regarding the possibility of resting Brasileirão players during the FIFA international window.
