- Manchester City's winning streak concludes with a 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
- Khadija Shaw opened the scoring for the visitors in the second half.
- Elisabeth Terland secured a point for United with a late equalising goal.
Manchester City's flawless record at the beginning of the Women's Super League season has come to an end following a 1-1 draw against local rivals Manchester United. The result in the Manchester derby halted a sequence of consecutive victories for the league leaders, who had previously maintained a 100% winning record.
Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw appeared to have secured another three points for the defending champions when she found the net during the second half. Her goal kept City at the top of the table for much of the contest as they looked set to extend their lead in what had been a breathless encounter.
However, Manchester United responded late in the competitive fixture. Elisabeth Terland struck the equaliser to ensure the points were shared, denying City a continuation of their perfect start. The draw marks the first time this season that City have failed to take maximum points from a WSL match.
