Following their Copa Libertadores semifinal elimination by Palmeiras on penalties, Fluminense manager Marcão faces immediate personnel issues. The club's defensive unit requires adjustments as Millán, who has been partnering Thiago Silva, sustained a muscle injury in his right thigh.

The Colombian defender was substituted before the 30-minute mark and is not expected to be available for the upcoming match. He left the pitch visibly distressed during the encounter against Palmeiras.

In other developments, Flamengo also exited the Libertadores following a penalty shootout. Jorginho, Lucas Paquetá, and Bruno Henrique failed to convert their attempts from the spot. Regarding the misses, manager Leonardo Jardim stated that he does not instruct his players on how to take penalties.
