  • Cristiano Ronaldo has been issued a 30-day suspension by the Portuguese FA.
  • The disciplinary action follows a disagreement with coach Jorge Jesus.
  • The federation president has indicated a potential return is possible.

The Portuguese Football Federation has suspended Cristiano Ronaldo for 30 days following his departure from the national team camp. The disciplinary council upheld the charges against the 41-year-old forward, which stemmed from a rift with coach Jorge Jesus regarding his role within the squad.

In addition to the suspension, Ronaldo has been fined €255. According to kicker, the federation views the disciplinary measures as largely symbolic in nature.

Despite the current suspension, the president of the Portuguese FA has left the door open for the player to potentially return to the national setup in November.
