- The Brazilian side lost 2-0 to Montevideo City Torque but advanced 3-2 on aggregate.
- Atlético-MG will face Boca Juniors in the final on November 21 in Barranquilla.
- Reaching the final guarantees the club at least R$ 12.9 million in prize money.
Atlético-MG has reached the final of the Copa Sudamericana for the second consecutive year. Despite a 2-0 loss to Montevideo City Torque at the Centenário Stadium on Wednesday, the Brazilian club progressed thanks to their 3-0 victory in the first leg at the Arena MRV.
The second leg proved difficult for the "Galo." Goalkeeper Gabriel Delfim was required to make several significant saves in the first half to maintain the aggregate lead. The closing stages were particularly tense as Atlético-MG conceded two goals and saw midfielder Alan Franco sent off. However, the 3-2 aggregate scoreline was enough to secure their spot in the championship match.
The final is scheduled for November 21 at the Estádio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez in Barranquilla, Colombia. Atlético-MG will face Boca Juniors, who eliminated Vasco in the other semifinal. This qualification ensures a financial boost of at least R$ 12.9 million for the club, as they continue their pursuit of a first-ever Sul-Americana title.
